As part of the Ministry of Health national Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) project, under the administrative and financial coordination of the of the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (Colciencias), the Development Group has prepared a CPG based on the evidence gathered in the most recent literature. The quality of the evidence was then evaluated, along with an analysis of its characteristics, in order to improve the recommendations for the Colombian context. GRADE methodology was used to evaluate the risks and biases according to the prioritised outcomes and to develop these recommendations in order to provide the answers to the questions that were pre-established and discussed with the funding body. The members of the group were professionals from all areas involved in diarrhoea in children. It also included patient representatives also took part, and values and preferences of the parents were taken into account. A summary is presented on the recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of children with diarrhoea in Colombia.
