Ileocolic intussusception in adolescence. Case report and literature review

Abstract
Intussusception or intussusception is the main cause of intestinal mechanical obstruction in pediatric patients, it occurs more frequently in infants. It rarely occurs in adolescents or adults, these cases are usually associated with organic or iatrogenic conditions such as tumors or previous surgical interventions. Its treatment is urgent, and if it is not treated the outcome can be fatal, especially in the pediatric population. We present the case of a 12-year-old patient with acute lymphoid leukemia in whom an ileocolic intussusception was detected following an episode of acute abdominal pain.
